so you'll want to know where ive been for 4 months. well that's top secret and Id have to kill you if I told you.
okay, that's not true but wouldnt it be kinda cool if it was?
i was down south in North Carolina....and yes, N.C. is down south. I had a major debate with a guy once about wether or not it was....i explained to him the mason/dixon line but that didnt seem to make a difference to him.
I worked for an outdoor musical historical theatre all summer. yes, it's true and yes, i did make it out alive. in fact i have done that for the last 5 summers of my life and at this point, 2 full days after my return, i think im done. maybe even broken. i sure hope not, i dont think anything has ever broken me before. you see, i tend to be the pyrotechnician when i go down for these summer jobs and as glamorous and fun as that may sound, just trust me on this one, it's not all it's cracked up to be. Nothing like having to make sure the lives of 100 college age kids are still intact by the end of the summer by handing them a gun or a torch. truly....the weight is a heavy one.
however i did receive a very honorable award this summer which made me feel the last 5 summers of my life werent a complete waste of my time. the cast and crew votes on one person to win an award at the end of the summer. so of course i drugged them all and rigged the ballot and won by a landslide. okay, no, but I did win without much coaxing and that's pretty freakin cool.
so anyway, in a nut shell my summer was chaotic, dramatic and stress-tastic. now Im home and ive never been happier to be back. did you know i got home sick for the first time this summer? I have lived in a good handful of places and never really missed home base before. but theres just something about my happy little brooklyn home.
im back....keep yer pants on.
