Im pissed off. Surprise surprise, im pissed off at the news. Last nite we came home from work. We'd been out in the police and military infested city all evening. All we wanted to do was relax. Our favorite thing to do is watch the Jimmy Kimmel show. In my opinion, the best late nite talk show there is right now. And what was going on? Every channel was taken over by 24 hour coverage of the war. Okay, we get the damn point. We're at war and it's god damned depressing. We all know, we understand, but for fucks sake!! GIVE US A BREAK! Let us relax...let us enjoy some of our down time. Eventually Jimmy Kimmel came on late but of course, it was a rerun that was cut in here and there by the news.
Im not trying to say that the news shouldnt be covering the war. Of course they should, but they also need to give us our time to relax. Not to forget, but to stop worrying for a minute or two during the day. For some people, a moment to laugh and stop crying. To drop the fear. Especially here where everyone seems to be convinced the city is a ticking time bomb.
I dont know, Im depressed and angry. Im embarrassed. I feel like punching someone and I feel like curling up in my bed. I feel like forgetting what's going on and I feel like standing up to it. Im not the only one who feels this way, Im sure.
It's a scary time we're living in right now...time to live every day to the fullest...and pray this all ends quickly.
