Ive been a bad blogger.
I think the mixture of the war, dentist visits, a week off from work and other various things have left me in a sort of haze. Now I sit back and think about what I have been up to in the last week and a half.
I remember the boy and I going to the movies. We saw Old School, going against what my brother told me. He claimed it was the worst movie he's seen...however, the boy and I have interesting senses of humor and we laughed through the whole entire thing. I guess we find the simple humor in Will Farrel's naked drunk ass. I would say, if you have the kind of sense of humor that believes movies like Tommy Boy ("did I catch a niner in there?"), Mallrats (snootchie bootchies), and Happy Gilmore ("tap tap tappy") are amusing, then you'll most likely dig Old School.
I remember going to the Museum of Natural History. I remember wanting to see the blue whale which was my favorite thing when I went there as a kid. I remember pouting when the blue whale portion of the museum was closed last week when we made our visit. So was the IMAX. So here's a tip for all you folks. Call ahead. Though dont get me wrong, we still had a ton of fun and it's been a long long time since Ive been there. If you find yourself there, try and remember to go to the dinosaur portion and look at the bones they found that still have scales and dried up skin attatched to it. Nifty.
I remember doing nothing on wednesday. Nothing at all.
I remember going home on thursday to upstate ny. I remember my dentist appointment on friday morning. I now officially have bondo filling two of my teeth because they had to be gutted so dramatically. It feels weird.
I remember returning home friday evening and going to a friends house to watch Waiting for Guffman for the 123,234, 842nd time. I dream of living in Blaine and singing about foot stools. Okay, no I dont really. However, I do dream of putting up "Red, White and Blaine", the play within the movie, somewhere in the city and seeing how many fools come to see it.
I remember walking through Prospect Park all day on Saturday and visiting the zoo inside. 2.50 per person and the happiest animals Ive ever seen. Still trying to decide if the Prairie Dogs or Red Panda or Meerkats were my favorite. I think I'll settle with all of 'em.
I remember going to a friends house Sunday nite for Wrestlemania. Of course, I only went because I heard that Goldberg was coming back and might make an appearance. He didnt. But he is coming back...at the next pay per view. Goooooldbeeeeerg.
I remember going back to work on monday and dealing with 4 shows instead of the usual 3. That may mean nothing to most of you, but trust me when I say my head was spinning. Tuesday was the same as monday. Yesterday I had an early morning trip to the dentist. Yesterday I was completely exhausted and today Ive "slept in" 'til 10:30am. Now Im here. Refusing to turn on the television so that maybe I'll get the motivation to get up and clean the bathroom and stuff. Im so tired of brushing my teeth and wondering "whats that smell?". But I may just sit here and wait for the boy to wake up so we can play our game that we borrowed from a couple friends. It's called "Baldur's Gate" and it's the first game Ive seen in ages where two players can play side by side and not against eachother. Good fun.
I hope all your week and a halfs are as fulfilling as I feel mine has been. Here's to more motivation, laughter and writing in the near future. And cheesiness. Dont forget the cheese.
