A disgruntled U.S. soldier from the 101st Airborne Division allegedly launched a grenade attack against a command tent at his base in northern Kuwait - killing one and injuring as many 15 - in what appeared to be an attempt to kill the base commander, a Pentagon official told The Post --NY Post

wow

It's 8:06 a.m. as I write. It's the first day of my week off. I couldn't sleep very well. I'll probably go back to bed in a little while when my eyes get to heavy. For now Im drinking my coffee and watching the news...trying to catch up. We were at work all day yesterday and pretty much in the dark as far as the going's on in the war. There was an enormous protest in the city yesterday that ended in Washington Square which is just a few blocks north of where I work. Our neighborhood was an interesting site indeed yesterday afternoon. All sorts of people were out and about and it made for a great dinner break. The boy and I pulled out chairs onto the sidewalk and watched the craziness.

I wish I could talk about something other than the war. Hell, I wish I could just think about something other than it for a little while. However, I do want to know what's going on out there so I watch the news anyhow. That's where I heard about that story up there. Supposedly he is an american muslim soldier who is completely against the war and so acted out against his fellow soldiers. That's what they say so far atleast.

I hope the next time I come back to post something it will be more upbeat somehow. I'll find a way.
