It's really amazing to me how politics have become something to talk about again. Atleast in the world I live in, politicians and current events have become as exciting to discuss as music and movies. Before this year I probably couldn't have pronounced Cheney. I was uninterested and uninformed. Now I find myself watching the news every morning, listening to Air America, discussing politics with friends and last night I even fell asleep watching the re-cap of the democratic convention speeches. For the first time in my life, I am registered to vote. I never was before because I wasn't informed and my vote would have been based on "Well who are you voting for?" If there's anything I have to thank George Bush for, it's getting me angry which in turn got me to pay attention. This is probably the most important election year I will ever see in my lifetime and I am proud to be involved for once. Thanks George. Thanks for being so terrible that I finally opened my eyes.

It's true though, that ignorance was bliss. Now I have real things to be angry about and it's a lot more consuming than say a broken coffee maker or even a collapsed ceiling.
