So yesterday. What the hell happened yesterday anyway? Oh right, not a helluva lot. I pretty much sat around here all day until about 130 when I finally got off my sorry, still dizzy from paint fumes butt and cleaned the bedroom/living room. Then I slapped a couple of pieces of cardboard together, glued some old cd covers on and made myself a nifty bulletin board to hang over my desk. It's pretty darn cool if I do say so myself.
Then the boy came home and slept for awhile while I got ready for the show. Remember, I got my first invite to a broadway dress rehearsal. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. I dunno if Im allowed to review it at all because it's not officially open but it would be interesting if I did and then they found it. I'll just tell you a little bit about it.
Ashley Judd, Jason Patrick and Ned Beatty are in it. Ashley seemed a tad on the nervous side despite the fact that her character was supposed to be kind of out of breath. Jason Patrick was good but kinda has a voice that sounds like he belongs in a 40's gangsta flick or something. Ned Beatty was totally amazing.
The 100 pounds of moss that we dipped actually looked fantastic. However, I feel awful for the people that had to hang it yesterday morning while it was still dripping wet with paint and the set is all white. That's a feat all in itself.
We're kind of jerks and ended up leaving after the second act. It's not that I didnt want to see it, it's that myself, the boy, the asst and her boy were all ridiculously tired when we got there. The asst. and I still recovering from the nite before with the moss, the boy recovering from a particularly hard and physical day at work and the asst's fella recovering from a short trip to vegas for a wedding. So when the asst. turned to us and said "wanna skip out and go to Red Lobster" we just couldn't resist. However, it didnt really matter all that much cause we can go back whenever we want and watch the third act during previews. I am curious to see what happens in the end because unlike a lot of people, Ive never read nor seen this play in action before.
The second act didnt even end until about 930 after having started at 730 so if we had stayed, we all most likely would have fallen asleep. So I dont feel so bad.
There was a guy sitting behind us that did this really bizarro laugh. One of those types of laughs where he was kind of anticipating the joke coming up and it sounded like a mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm MMMMMMMMMMMMMM HAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA. Yeah, the boy and I kicked eachother and poked eachother in place of laughing.
Bumped into friends on the way home on the train. The ones that live right up the street. I felt weird and guilty cause I havent hung out with them in a little while and even though I was out for kind of work purposes, I still felt like we were caught or something. Even though we totally weren't. S'okay, they understand.
