It's saturday morning folks. 9:14am and 38 degrees outside. It's raining...a lot. Those people who were complaining about the puddles at the end of the sidewalks are in for a special treat today.

Every Saturday morning, I flip thru the channels for something to listen to while I sit here and read blogs and drink my coffee. I am amazed at the lack of decent cartoon watching these days. What happened to the good cartoons? Apparently Im not the only one who noticed. Hopefully there arent too many kids out there stuck with the channels we have...cbs, nbc...you know, basic channels. Seems the place to be is Nickelodeon or of course, Cartoon Network.

We had an interesting character with us on the train the other nite. Well, interesting to us. While we waited at Chambers street for the express train home, this guy with a bowl cut, a weight problem and one of those blue and black checkered shirts was singing and dancing and having the time of his life on the nearly empty platform. However, we couldnt really hear what he was singing about because of the train parked on the adjacent track. After awhile I got tired of trying to listen and eventually the train came. We took our seats and did our usual, the boy took out his book to read and I whipped out my fabulous red journal to draw or write or whatever I felt like doing to pass the time. I chose to look around the car for an interesting character or two but there were only about 6 other people in the car with us, including bowl cut guy. I decided I would write a little bit about him and his happy singing and dancing and came to the conclusion that he was a song writer or something cause he was walking around with a pad and pencil and whenever he was done singing, he would write. As we neared our stop at Grand Army Plaza, he began to sing again. I listened in. "Jesus is the laaaaaamb, jesus is the laaaaamb." I thought "nooooooooo." My romantic vision of this overweight wanna be songwriter quickly fizzled out as he sang harder and louder.. "Jesus is the laaaaaamb." Then, he started preaching the word to some poor sap sitting alone on the other side of the car. I believe he said something along the lines of "Jesus hates sin righteously!!" The boy and I shared smirks of hidden laughter while we listened intently to his ramblings on. Okay, so you had to be there, but with the amount of concentration I put into making up a life for this guy before he started praising the lord made for an interesting turn around.

Im tired, leave me alone now please.
