Arlene's Grocery Live Band Karaoke
"NO KAHROKEE FOR YOU!"
Happy 4th come and gone.
Last night was spent with some old friends of mine, some of whom I haven't seen in over 2 years. The 4th also happens to be one of their birthdays. Happy birthday you sunuva!
I spent the better part of my day wrestling with the show I am currently working on. Luckily I won this match so I felt a night out was well deserved. Unfortunately I missed the trip to coney island to see the famous dog eating contest. However, the idea of people swallowing nathan's hot dogs whole at 1130am isn't all that appealing anyway.
Anyhow, our crew had some drinks at a bar called "Off the Wagon" for awhile before heading over to the bday boys house to watch fireworks from the roof. It wasn't the best view of the fireworks themselves but he did have a beautiful view of the city. Nevermind the fact that he lives in college kid hell (heaven) so there were plenty of local explosions to keep us entertained.
Next stop, Arlene's Grocery for live band karaoke. I never thought in a million years this would be as entertaining as it was. You could go to a live show in this city and not see half as many people dancing as there were there. Nevermind the comedy stylings of random older drunk guy who introduced himself on the mic as "Cosmo Fuck." He also gave us a slammin' wasted rendition of White Wedding.
Sadly I wasn't able to close the bar with everyone as I have to be "professional" today and do the whole first rehearsal thing. But of course I stayed long enough to hear bday boy sing an AC/DC song. I only wish I could tell you which one it was. I'm sure he wishes the same.
And without further ado, myself and "Cosmo Fuck."
And of course, the birthday boy.
