I had the most wonderful time at home for the holidays. The boy made it back here safe and sound and just in time to head up north for a couple days. Christmas was filled with Trivial Pursuit, pie and movies. It doesn't get any better than that. Of course we spent christmas day opening presents, playing with our new gifts and a second round of trivial pursuit. Of course, the parents went undefeated this time around, however, they'd better watch out for next time 'cause the boy and I will be practicing!
We continued the two years tradition of the whole family going to LOTR. Im not afraid to say that I was teary throughout the entire film. It was beautiful and if you've already seen it, Im sure it needs no explanation. If you haven't, then I suggest you get off your behind and catch this film on the big screen. Flawless I believe is the word I would use for it. Directly after the film, the boy had to hop in the car and head for home here in brooklyn to take care of the kitties while I stayed behind to paint for the parents in return for a new machine.
Yes, that's right folks, I know am typing from my brand new, custom made by dad, racecar of a computer. It's not only the fastest computer in brooklyn (next to my brother's of course) but it's also pretty to look at. Oh, and I have an actual mouse now. After two years of doing everything from my laptop, that is certainly something to celebrate. Of course, I didn't walk away from the paint job unscathed. I managed to sand a piece of skin off my knuckle which is a tad sore still, but it was worth the war wound.
Sunday the brother's friend drove us back here with our wares and I spent the rest of the afternoon decorating the bathroom with the new mats and towels we recieved and cleaning out the new set of glasses and mugs we also got. Then I set up the monster of a machine and played for awhile.
We also had quite a bit of company here last nite. A ton of people that we know from the summer of the Lost Colony are either here or on their way here to spend New Years in New York. A couple of them that are staying next door came and spent some time with us last nite. It was great to catch up and have some friends over for awhile.
However, because they did, I still have a lot of customizing and setting up to do, so without further ado.....
